Indians are geared up for blogging

19 April, 2009

Being an Indian, It’s really a proud moment for me. An Indian blogger named Amit Varma has been included in the list of India’s 50 Most Powerful People for 2009. Amit runs the tremendously popular India Uncut blog.

As mentioned by the BusinessWeek magazine,

Blogger Amit Varma brings a particular libertarian point of view to his columns and blog items, but also a risqué sense of humor that keeps readers hooked. He won the 2007 Bastiat Prize for his columns in Indian business paper Mint, and for a select group of Indians, he represents a libertarian, anti-tax and anti-government sensibility that is still quite rare in the country.

Celebrity blogger Amitabh Bachchan has completed one year in blogging world. As he writes from the bottom of his heart, here are some of the words,

One year !

Some times exuberance overtakes everything else. Sometimes the enormity of a situation stifles all else. Sometimes a moment numbs one into silence. I am silent today. I am silent today in servility. In gratitude. In thankfulness. In affection and love.

I am silent today because I do not have enough words in my limited dictionary to express what this day means to me.

No one believed that this would last. No one believed that I would last. No one believed that any one would last. No one believed that the titles of the ‘DAY’ was right. No one believed that I wrote my blogs myself. No one believed that I was not paid to do this. No one believed that I do not moderate. No one believed that I find time to write. No one believed I would respond to comments. No one believed that I would tolerate abuse. No one believed that I would respond to criticism. No one believed that I would write this blog for other reasons than just to clarify and attack media. No one believed in me….

Except…

MY EXTENDED FAMILY…

As Amitabh Bachchan celebrates his 1st Blogging Anniversary, a dedicated yahoo group named as BIG B YAHOO GROUP celebrates its 10th Anniversary. The group has made a powerpoint presentation as a tribute to the one year of the blog. Go…Have a look…!!!

Gujarat Chief Minister Mr.Narendra Modi started his blog at www.narendramodi.com/ .

He writes,

Friends,

Your endearing love and perseverance has motivated me to enter this ever evolving world of blogging.

Today is 14th April; 118th birth anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. I pay my humble tribute to this great personality who born in the underprivileged section of the society overcame difficulties and challenges he faced. His mantra was “Educate yourself, come together and stand for your rights”.

As you can see in the picture, a web designer has put quite a heavy weight on his surname Modi rather than on the name.

What you say…???
